Embarking on a cruise is one of the best ways to explore the world. Whether you are a seasoned sailor or planning your first voyage, figuring out how to make the most of your trip can be hard.
We have great expert tips and tricks to help you cruise smarter and enhance your cruise experience. So, get ready to set sail with confidence and make your cruise one to remember!
Tips and Tricks
Download the Cruise Line App
The first tip that we recommend all sailors do before they embark is to download the Cruise Line App. Once you have downloaded the app and linked your cruise to your account you then should be able to book speciality dining reservations around the shows that you want to see so that you are there on time but be quick as spaces can sell out pretty quickly. Why not also book your shore excursions in advance as well with the shore credit you may get on certain cruise packages! This will allow you to not miss anything you want to try or do as well as to know exactly what you are doing each day on your cruise so you can relax and know that everything is done even before you embark.
Pack a carry-on with Essentials.
Sometimes it can take time for the crew to load suitcases onto the ship and deliver them to your cabin that is why we recommend you to pack a carry-on with essentials such as a change of clothes including underwear, swimming costumes for those who want to dive right into the refreshing pool water, deodorant, medication that you know that you will need, plugs (Don’t forget to check which plugs are used onboard. Just because you are sailing in Europe it doesn’t mean the plugs are EUs). Another thing you might want to pack is small magnets as the cabin walls are magnetic, which means you can stick important documents/excursion tickets or anything else to the wall to find them easily.

Check your bill regularly
Why are we telling you this even if you have an all-inclusive package? We want you to enjoy your cruise experience and not be disappointed with any surprises near the end of your incredible cruise. If something does look wrong, then you can solve any errors directly with the shipboard team before disembarkation.
Research your port of call.
Researching each and every port of call you will be sailing to will allow you to have a plan of action when you disembark the ship. This not only allows you to get to use your port time to the fullest. You also will enjoy your cruise more as you are not stressing about what to do the day before.

Are you travelling Solo?
Solo travellers do not fear, if you want to there is lots to do on board with solo meetups organised or some cruise lines have a designated area just for solo sailors like yourself where you can meet and socialise. This is a fantastic way to meet and make friends while you are on your cruise.

Disembarking but have a late flight?
One app that is essential to download if you have a late flight is DayUse.Com. This allows you to book a hotel room and have access to all of the facilities within the hotel. This is usually quite good for when you have disembarked in the US in the morning and do not fly out till later that day.
The other great app to download is called Luggage Hero this allows you to explore your end destination before your late inbound flight without the worry of lugging your luggage around as you can store your luggage in certain safe locations and collect it before you need to leave to catch your flight.
