Tidal Rum on the Jersey Shore

Who is behind The Tidal Rum?

Tidal Rum originates from the Shorts Boy distillery founded by Harry and Ben, the story of the award-winning Tidal Rum starts by the sea, where the founders grew up. The distillery is located on the beautiful British island of Jersey, the sea has always been the heart of The Tidal Rum, it has inspired the taste.

The Shorts Boy distillery feeds off of the sea’s tides and incorporates this into everything they do, from respecting the world’s oceans to their rum-making process. Some would call The Tidal Rum sought straight from Jersey’s shores is a Caribbean inspired island hopper as it gets its strong golden smoothness from a detailed mix of cask-aged rums from Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados and the Dominican Republic, the rum is then infused with a unique savoury truffle flavour from pepper dulse. If you fancy being an island hopper yourself then why not try a Tidal Rum whilst you are holidaying in the sun on Arvia?

Exclusive blends on board

The contents of The Tidal Rum come straight from the Jersey coastline sea botanicals, one of the biggest tidal ranges in the world. The Jersey coastline unlocks a stunning underwater rainforest when at low tide, this is where a wide variety of sea botanicals are located and carefully sourced.

The Tidal Rum has been created through the collaboration between founders of Shorts Boys distillery Harry and Ben and P&O Cruises who will work closely together. The aim of this collaboration is to develop a rum that takes guests on a journey of freedom and adventure which is inspired by the ocean not only this but also provides a delightful taste that’s off the charts.

“We believe that if you’re going to do anything, you should do it well. Especially when it comes to what you choose to drink. That’s why we’ve given rum the refinement it deserves, and crafted a beautiful spirit, inspired by the ocean. Once tasted, it’s hard to forget.”

What makes Tidal Rum unique?

The Tidal Rum is so unique and a perfect match for P&O Cruises because the founders have had a distinct mission from the beginning of the creation of the Tidal Rum and the opening of the Shorts Boy distillery which is to “celebrate rum and the sea in equal measure”.

“We created The Tidal Rum to bring a refined rum, infused with elegant seawater botanicals – including pepper dulse, the truffle of the sea – to reposition rum as the first drink of the night.”

Ben Clyde-Smith and Harry Coulthard, founders of the Shorts Boy Distillery and The Tidal Rum

There are so many places for you to enjoy The Tidal Rum whether you are indulging in a stunningly crafted cocktail in Anderson’s Bar and Library or if you want to soak up the exotic weather you can enjoy your first sip in front of a stunning Caribbean horizon on top deck The Tidal rum has the perfect ingredients to assist with making your holiday unforgettable.
