MSC Voyagers Club is the MSC Cruises loyalty programme. It runs in six tiers (Welcome, Classic, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Blue Diamond) and the benefits compound quickly — by Gold most guests are getting noticeably more out of every sailing. This guide explains how the tiers work, what each one includes, and whether the programme is worth chasing if MSC is your line of choice.

30-second view: how MSC Voyagers Club works
You earn points based on the number of nights you sail, the cabin grade you book, and your onboard spend. Every tier from Welcome upwards gives you more onboard credit, more discounts, more dining perks and faster embarkation. The Welcome and Classic tiers are easy to reach; Gold typically takes 4-5 cruises; Diamond is the long-haul reward for committed MSC repeat sailers.
How MSC Voyagers Club points are earned
- Nights sailed: 1 point per night in an Interior cabin; 2 points per night in Ocean View / Balcony; 3 points per night in Yacht Club.
- Onboard spend: 1 additional point per €100 spent onboard (drinks packages, speciality dining, shore excursions, spa).
- Cabin grade multiplier: higher cabin grades earn at a higher rate per night.
- Status keeps for 3 years from your last sailing.
The six tiers explained
Welcome (0 points)
Automatic on first booking. Welcome cocktail, welcome letter, loyalty discount on future sailings.
Classic (1-2,199 points)
Reached after one cruise. Adds onboard credit, photo discount and a dedicated Voyagers Club lounge area.
Silver (2,200-4,299 points)
Reached after two to three cruises. Adds a complimentary lunch or dinner at a speciality restaurant, more onboard credit, priority boarding for repeat-guest events.
Gold (4,300-9,999 points)
Typically reached after four to five cruises. The tier where MSC Voyagers Club starts to feel genuinely valuable. Adds a complimentary speciality dinner per cruise, larger onboard credit, free internet allowance, priority boarding, plus discounts on drinks and dining packages purchased pre-cruise.
Diamond (10,000-24,999 points)
Reached after roughly 8-12 cruises depending on cabin grade and onboard spend. Adds two complimentary speciality dinners, a generous onboard credit, full internet, priority everything (boarding, tendering, disembarkation), and a Diamond welcome reception with the captain.
Blue Diamond (25,000+ points)
MSC’s top tier, added in recent years. Typically reached after 25 or more cruises by guests sailing in higher cabin grades or Yacht Club. Blue Diamond adds the largest MSC Voyagers Exclusives discounts (up to 5% additional on bookings made more than 9 months pre-sail), double experience points on bookings made 12+ months pre-sail, additional onboard credit, priority for free cabin upgrades where available, Yacht Club drop-off luggage handling, and access to Yacht Club for check-in where available. The full benefits list is published on MSC’s Voyagers Club page.
Is MSC Voyagers Club worth chasing?
If MSC is your default cruise line, yes — the tier progression is fairly fast and Gold tier delivers meaningful per-cruise value (speciality dinner + onboard credit + faster boarding alone are worth several hundred pounds across a year of cruising). If you sail mixed lines, the points-don’t-transfer rule means you should evaluate each cruise on its own merits rather than booking MSC just for the loyalty boost.
How MSC Voyagers Club compares to other loyalty schemes
- Royal Caribbean Crown & Anchor — earns points per night sailed only (not by cabin grade), so MSC Voyagers Club’s grade multiplier is slightly more rewarding for suite passengers.
- NCL Latitudes — similar structure to MSC but rewards onboard spend less aggressively.
- P&O Cruises Peninsular Club — UK-focused with a similar tier structure; benefits weighted toward repeat UK departures.
- Princess Captain’s Circle — milestone-based (cruises taken or days sailed) with similar progression rates.
“MSC Voyagers Club is one of the more guest-friendly loyalty programmes in the mass-market segment. Gold tier is the sweet spot — by then you’re getting speciality dining, onboard credit and the faster-boarding benefits that actually change how the cruise feels. If you sail MSC twice a year you’ll be Gold within two years.”

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I join MSC Voyagers Club?
You’re enrolled automatically when you book your first MSC Cruise. You don’t need to apply separately. Your Voyagers Club number appears on your booking confirmation and on the MSC for Me app.
Do MSC Voyagers Club points expire?
Your tier status is kept for three years from your most recent sailing. If you don’t sail with MSC for three years, your status reduces. Points accumulated within your tier do not separately expire.
Can I transfer my status from another cruise line?
MSC offers a Status Match programme for Gold or Platinum-equivalent loyalty members from other lines. Submit a proof of status from your other line via the MSC Voyagers Club page and they will assign an equivalent MSC tier for one initial sailing.
Does Yacht Club count toward Voyagers Club status?
Yes. Yacht Club cabins earn at the highest rate (3 points per night) so sailing in Yacht Club accelerates tier progression noticeably.
What’s the best perk in MSC Voyagers Club?
Most guests rate the priority boarding and the complimentary speciality dinner as the two perks that change the cruise experience most. Onboard credit is the most tangible financial benefit. The free internet allowance from Gold upwards is increasingly valuable for cruisers who work remotely.
