Virgin Voyages is heading somewhere it has never been. In Summer 2028, the adults-only line sails Scandinavia and the Baltics for the very first time, with its ship Valiant Lady based in Amsterdam for a brand-new summer season. It is a completely fresh line-up: six sailings, 15 ports Virgin has never visited, and itineraries running from the Scandinavian capitals all the way to the Arctic Circle.

Below is everything announced so far: the routes, the ports and the sailings worth watching, plus how and when to book. Why the Scandinavia & Baltics launch matters

This is not a few sailings bolted onto an existing region. It is a whole new part of the world for Virgin Voyages, and the range is the point: from a broad, five-country introduction to Scandinavia, through the quiet Norwegian fjords, all the way north to the Arctic Circle.

It also suits the brand. Virgin Voyages is adults-only, so this is a grown-up way to see the North: no children on board, just long, light-filled summer evenings, late port stays and the ship’s signature style.

The six sailings at a glance

Scandinavia & Stockholm Overnight, 12 nights

The fullest itinerary of the collection: five countries and six ports. Oslo for a day of Scandi cool, Copenhagen on a late stay that turns Tivoli Gardens into an evening out, and Gdansk (docking in Gdynia) for a medieval Old Town few Sailors have seen. Stockholm is the standout, an overnight with a golden-hour sail-in through the archipelago. Berlin comes by direct train from Warnemunde, and design-led Aarhus closes it out.

Norwegian Fjords, 7 nights

No capital cities on this one, just the fjords at their best, and one of the standout Norwegian fjord cruises of the collection. Molde sits beneath 222 named peaks and hosts a legendary summer jazz festival, Nordfjordeid is genuinely off the beaten track, and Flam delivers one of the steepest standard-gauge railways in the world. Bergen, one of the highest-rated ports in the fleet, closes it with its UNESCO-listed Bryggen wharf.

Scandinavia & Hamburg, 7 nights

Three cities, two late stays, no filler. Oslo for the Munch Museum and the Opera House rooftop, Copenhagen for New Nordic dinner and Tivoli after dark, and Hamburg, staying until nearly midnight, for the Elbphilharmonie, the Speicherstadt warehouse district and a nightlife scene most itineraries never make time for.

Arctic Circle & Norwegian Fjords, 11 nights

The headline sailing of the season. Bergen opens it, then Valiant Lady crosses the Arctic Circle itself, marked onboard with a Crossing Ceremony and a midnight-sun deck party under 24-hour daylight. Tromso brings the Arctic Cathedral and husky farms, Honningsvag is the gateway to North Cape, the northernmost point reachable by road in mainland Europe, and Trondheim, Andalsnes and Olden carry the journey back south through the fjords.

Western Europe Crossings, 10 nights each way

Two bookend sailings on the same route in opposite directions. Barcelona to Amsterdam (departs 9 July) opens in Casablanca, then Lisbon overnight, La Coruna for Galicia, and Cherbourg within reach of Mont Saint-Michel. Amsterdam to Barcelona (departs 25 August) runs it in reverse, swapping Casablanca for a closing call in Tangier.

The 15 maiden ports

Every itinerary calls somewhere new to the fleet. The full list: Oslo, Copenhagen, Gdansk (Gdynia), Stockholm, Berlin (via Warnemünde), Aarhus, Molde, Nordfjordeid, Flam, Tromsø, Honningsvåg (North Cape), Trondheim, Andalsnes, Olden and Cherbourg.

Overnight stays in Stockholm and Lisbon

An overnight is where a port stops feeling like a stop. Stockholm, on the 12-night sailing, arrives through the archipelago at golden hour and leaves the following afternoon. Lisbon, on both crossings, gets an overnight on the outbound leg (in at 6 pm, out at 6 pm the next day) and a crisp morning call on the way back.

How and when to book

This season rewards the Sailors who commit first. Sailing Club members get 24-hour exclusive access from 13 August 2026, with a $100 Bar Tab offer valid for two weeks from launch. Public booking opens the next day, 14 August 2026, for all six sailings.

A few things worth knowing. If you hold a My Next Virgin Voyage placeholder (a pre-bought credit towards a future sailing), you get first access and the best onboard-credit value in the fleet on this season. Groups can hold spots with a $0 deposit and a price lock, useful for the Arctic Circle sailing before everyone’s dates line up.
