For the first time, many cruise lines are introducing a special cruise itinerary where guests can experience the 2026 Total Solar Eclipse at sea! This is an incredible package where guests can tick their bucket list off by experiencing the once in a lifetime Total Solar Eclipse.

You do not want to miss out on this rare opportunity as this event only happens around every 100 years! You will be able to watch The Total Solar Eclipse on the 12th August 2026.

Where can I watch the Total Eclipse?

The Total Eclipse will be an experience you do not want to miss with it only being visible across the northeast of the Arctic Ocean to the south through eastern Greenland, with the experience ending in the Balearic Sea. So really the best way to experience this incredible opportunity is by sea on a cruise ship!

With quite a few Total Solar Eclipse Sailings for you to embark here are the ones that have been released so far:

Azamara

Do you want a more intimate experience while experiencing the solar eclipse in 2026? Then why not embark on Azamara Journey and Azamara Onward where you can experience the Solar Eclipse at sea.

Azamara Journey will be sailing on an 18-night North American voyage from Iceland. With some great ports of call including Reykjavik, Isadjordur, St. John’s, Saguenay Fjord, Montreal and many more for you to look forward to.

The other sailing is Azamara Onward who will be sailing around the Mediterranean from Athens porting in some beautiful ports including Rome. Florence/Pisa, Nice and Barcelona just to name a few.

Or why not embark on Celebrity Apex and experience the best of Europe on the Med, Spain & Portugal. This 14-night Cruise will sail from Southampton. You will experience the Total Solar Eclipse at sea near the North of Spain.

What better way to experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity than onboard 3 of Holland America Line Ships: Oosterdam, Nieuw Statendam and Zuiderdam! Onboard these voyages you must head up to the wraparound deck to experience the natural beauty of the solar eclipse.

Either choose to sail in the Mediterranean to experience the eclipse off the coast of Spain or if you prefer a cooler climate, then sail around Northern Europe instead and watch the show happen off the coast of Iceland. Why not sail on the popular Voyage of the Vikings cruise from Boston and take in the gorgeous sights of the eclipse.
