Celebrity River Cruises mark an exciting new chapter for Celebrity Cruises, bringing the brand’s contemporary design and premium service to Europe’s most iconic waterways. Known for innovation at sea, Celebrity now delivers a refined river experience that combines spacious accommodation, immersive destinations and generous inclusions.

For travellers who love the style of the Edge Series but prefer to dock in the heart of historic cities, Celebrity River Cruises offer the perfect balance of familiarity and exploration.

About Celebrity River Cruises

Celebrity River Cruises represents the brand’s bold expansion into luxury European river cruising, focusing initially on the Rhine and Danube rivers. These purpose-built vessels blend modern architecture, larger staterooms, and signature venues with destination-led itineraries

The fleet launches in 2027 with Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker, introducing a new standard for space and onboard comfort. The line’s growth accelerates rapidly in 2028 with the addition of three more ships: Celebrity Wanderer, Celebrity Boundless, and Celebrity Roamer, strengthening Celebrity’s position within the European luxury river cruises market.

Unlike many traditional river lines, Celebrity places a strong emphasis on open design, natural light, and premium finishes. As a result, guests enjoy a seamless transition from the “Edge Series” ocean experience to the intimacy of river travel

The Fleet: Compass, Seeker & The 2028 Class

Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker set the tone for the fleet, with identical features extending to the 2028 vessels (Wanderer, Boundless, and Roamer).

Most notably, these ships introduce the Magic Edge, inspired by the well-known “Magic Carpet” concept. This cantilevered dining space extends over the river, allowing guests to dine with uninterrupted panoramic views.

Expansive open decks provide 360-degree scenery, while relaxed bar and grill spaces create a sociable atmosphere during scenic cruising. In addition, an infinity-edge plunge pool on the sundeck offers a rare feature for river vessels, allowing guests to relax while sailing through the Rhine Gorge or along the Danube.

Celebrity has also integrated hybrid propulsion systems and advanced waste management technology across the entire river fleet, reinforcing its long-term sustainability commitments

Staterooms and Suites

Comfort and space define the accommodation onboard Celebrity River Cruises.

Every stateroom features a King sized bed, addressing one of the most common concerns among ocean cruisers moving to river ships. The layout feels open and contemporary, with clean lines and thoughtful design details.

Skylight Infinite Balcony Suites include a separate living area and an overhead window designed to maximise natural light. Vista Balcony Suites provide even more generous proportions, with distinct lounge areas and spacious bathrooms. Meanwhile, Infinite Veranda Staterooms allow guests to transform floor to ceiling windows into open air balconies at the touch of a button.

Guests staying in premium suite categories benefit from dedicated butler service, priority excursion access and enhanced in suite dining options.

Where Do Celebrity River Cruises Sail?

Celebrity River Cruises focus on two of Europe’s most sought after waterways, offering immersive journeys through culturally rich regions.

Rhine River Cruises

Celebrity Cruises Rhine sailings typically operate between Basel and Amsterdam. Along the route, guests explore cities such as Cologne and Strasbourg while cruising through the dramatic Rhine Gorge, famous for its castles and vineyard covered hillsides. Seasonal departures may include spring tulip sailings and festive winter voyages.

Danube River Cruises

Celebrity Cruises Danube itineraries connect Budapest with cities including Vienna, Bratislava and Passau. The journey passes through the scenic Wachau Valley, while extended routes explore the Lower Danube and the striking Iron Gates gorge.

Together, these voyages position Celebrity River Cruises firmly within the premium European river cruise market.

Dining and Inclusions

Celebrity River Cruises promise a broader range of dining options than many traditional river lines. Ships feature multiple restaurants and bars, including familiar venues such as the Martini Bar, Café al Bacio and the Sunset Bar, thoughtfully adapted for the river environment.

Fares include a classic drinks package covering wine, beer, cocktails, coffee and soft drinks. In addition, each port includes at least one complimentary shore excursion, allowing guests to explore without constant additional charges.

WiFi remains available throughout the ship, while flexible dining hours and room service enhance comfort and convenience.

Pre and Post Cruise Experiences

To create a seamless holiday, Celebrity offers curated pre and post cruise stays in major European cities. These extensions allow guests to explore destinations such as Prague or Budapest with dedicated hosts and concierge support, maintaining the same service standards found onboard.

Is a Celebrity River Cruise Right for You?

Celebrity River Cruises appeal to travellers who value contemporary design, generous staterooms and brand familiarity, yet want the intimacy and city centre access that river cruising provides.

If you already enjoy sailing with Celebrity Cruises but prefer smaller ships and immersive cultural experiences, this river fleet offers a compelling alternative.
