MSC Cruises latest flagship MSC Seascape arrived in New York on Monday 5th December ahead of her Glitzy naming ceremony which took place on Wednesday 7th December. Her arrival in New York marked the end of a 17-day journey from the shipyard where she was built in Italy.
Where did the naming ceremony take place?
MSC Seascape’s naming ceremony took place at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal and is one of the largest cruise ships to dock in Manhattan. MSC Seascape is the Line’s first ship to be named in New York City in recognition of the addition of New York as a new homeport in April 2023. This will provide even more choice of North American embarkation ports and itineraries for MSC Cruises guests from both North America and the rest of the world.
The star-studded event brought MSC Cruises’ distinctive European style and glamour to the Big Apple and was attended by local dignitaries, important partners, top travel advisors, media from around the world, celebrities and international artists. The ceremony included wishing MSC Seascape good luck for her many future sailings. And of course, no Naming Ceremony would be complete without Academy Award-Winning star Sophia Loren who carried out her iconic role as godmother to her 18th MSC Cruises ship.
A little bit about MSC Seascape
MSC Seascape will offer an immersive experience that truly connects guests with the sea, offering a beautiful design and impressive outdoor spaces that can be enjoyed for relaxation, dining, and entertainment. She will be the longest vessel in the fleet with a length of 339m. MSC Seascape has a total of 20 decks and a gross tonnage of 169,400t, she will be able to accommodate 5,877 passengers.

- Technologically advanced onboard entertainment options, including the new ROBOTRON – a thrilling amusement ride that offers the breath-taking thrill of a rollercoaster at sea combined with a personalised DJ music experience
- Awe-inspiring entertainment, with six fantastical new productions and 98 hours of exclusive onboard entertainment featuring interactive elements
- 700 square metres of dedicated kids’ space and cutting-edge amusement options, with newly designed spaces for ages 0 to 17
- 2,270 cabins, featuring 12 different kinds of suites and staterooms with balconies (including the iconic aft suites featured on all Seaside class ships).
- 11 dining venues, 19 bars and lounges, with many options for ‘Al Fresco’ dining and drinking
- Six swimming pools, including a stunning aft infinity pool with incredible ocean views
- The largest and most luxurious MSC Yacht Club in MSC Cruises’ fleet, with approximately 32,000 square feet of space featuring sweeping ocean views from the front of the ship
- An expansive 1,772-foot-long waterfront promenade that puts guests closer to the ocean
- A spectacular glass-floored Bridge of Sighs at deck 16 with a unique view of the sea
What Itineraries will MSC Seascape offer?
MSC Seascape, the fourth ship in the Seaside class will come into service on the 8th of December 2022 departing from New York and setting sail for Miami where it will commence its inaugural sailing season to the Caribbean. MSC Seascape will offer two different 7-night year-round Caribbean itineraries from Miami. There will be an Eastern Caribbean itinerary and a Western Caribbean itinerary being offered from £449 pp which will include the following ports of call listed below:
- Eastern Caribbean: Calling at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve and Nassau in The Bahamas, San Juan in Puerto Rico, and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic
- Western Caribbean: Calling at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Cozumel in Mexico, George Town in the Cayman Islands and Ocho Rios in Jamaica
