From today Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas has started cruising to international ports again. She is set to sail further than the shores of Singapore to popular destinations in Malaysia including Penang and Kuala Lumpur. Cruisers can now experience ports of call on Spectrum of the Seas as the ship has been operating ocean getaways from Singapore which began in April and has been a fun and different way of cruising since the pandemic affected destination cruising. Although countries have now relaxed their entry requirements meaning cruising to ports has made a long-awaited comeback.

Royal Caribbean is the first cruise line in Singapore to reconnect cruisers with Asia’s stunning destinations, finally at last. Royal Caribbean has always been known for the exotic destinations that its ships visit and finally Spectrum of the Seas can bring its itineraries in Asia back to life. The new Spectrum of the Seas is the biggest and most innovative ship in Asia now offering 3- and 4-night itineraries providing passengers of all ages the first of many opportunities to sail and discover international shores once again.

Where will Spectrum of the Seas visit first?

Two of the places that Spectrum of the Seas is visiting, to begin with, are the vibrant and culture-rich cities of Penang and Kuala Lumpur, where cruisers can have memorable holidays by exploring a plethora of local cultures, and delicious street food such as the popular Penang Assam Laksa (Rice Noodles In Fishy Soup), visit historical sites like George Town in Penang or the 451m-tall Petronas Twin Towers in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur. Royal Caribbean has a wide variety of shore excursions lined up for guests to choose from. For example, in Penang, you could take a shore excursion to visit southeast Asia’s oldest Anglican Church, St George’s church, or when in Kuala Lumpur take an adventure shore excursion into the Batu Caves which feature limestone cave walls decorated with colourful and vibrant historic displays of Hindu deities. Later on, in the summer the ship will also visit Phuket where you will be able to visit its emerald jungles, and Kanazawa where you can visit its majestic mountains.

“After more than two years, the excitement from guests, both locals and fly cruisers, along with our travel partners is undeniable. Singapore is a top destination in and of itself, and its proximity to neighbouring countries makes it easy to venture out and explore. There’s no better way to take full advantage of this than by taking a cruise, where guests can enjoy the ultimate combination of thrills, entertainment, dining and activities as they sail from one idyllic destination to the next on Spectrum of the Seas.”

Who will this exciting news impact the most?

This wonderful news will definitely provide cruisers with the holiday of a lifetime in Asia once again being able to sail from place to place, and waking up in a new country every day, the feeling of this has been sorely missed over the last few years. These port calls will offer first-time and repeat cruisers different holiday options to a greater extent as more ports in the region open up. This news will beneficially impact the cruisers that prefer to sail to different destinations and ports of call rather than an ocean getaway type cruise as now they will be able to experience the places that they want to which is very exciting news after a lot of time of staycation cruising. If Malaysia is on your bucket list, book your next Spectrum of the Seas Asia cruise today!

What are Singapore’s entry requirements?

Singapore’s entry requirements have recently been relaxed meaning that more holidaymakers will be able to enjoy holidays there and cruise from there. The updated requirements mean that children aged 12 and under can enter Singapore regardless of their Covid-19 vaccination status and do not require a test to get in. Guests aged 13 and above are required to have 1 or 2 WHO EUL vaccines administered a certain amount of days apart depending on what vaccine it is and at least two weeks before arrival in Singapore. When traveling to Singapore you will be required to have the following things: proof of vaccination, a filled-in SG arrival card (SGAC) which is a free declaration of your travel and health details on arrival, and a passport that has a minimum of six months validity from the date of arrival in Singapore. If you want to find out more about entry requirements into Singapore, read the information required here – https://safetravel.ica.gov.sg/arriving/overview.
