About
AmaWaterways has been sailing for more than 21 years on the river. It is a family-owned and operated cruise company which was founded in 2002 by three families. They all wanted to offer the highest-quality river cruise company with locally sourced food and wine; elegant appointed ships with staterooms offering insane views for guests to enjoy the ever-changing countryside and of course hiring the best crew who go above and beyond, treating guests like they are part of the AmaWaterways family.

Fleet
AmaWaterways has 28 ships in its fleet which sail all over the world to destinations such as Europe, Portugal, Vietnam & Cambodia, Africa, Egypt and Latin America. Each ship is designed by the “Godfather of River Cruise” their Co-Founder Rudi Schreiner. Rudi has carefully thought through the designs of the ships, which has landed AmaWaterways multiple awards, such as the Highest Rated River Cruise Ships in Europe! Each Ship offers a luxurious space for 156 guests, offering some of the largests staterooms on the rivers. AmaMagna offers the largest and most luxurious suites on the Danube River. Onboard, the ships have an open-air Sun Deck with expansive space for a walking track, pool or whirlpool, as well as, a bar, sitting area and ample spaces for their host-led fitness classes which is part of their complimentary Wellness Program.
Dining onboard one of AmaWaterways ships, will allow you to indulge in exquisite locally-sourced cuisines prepared by award-winning chefs. For breakfast and lunch you can enjoy an a la carte in the Main Restaurants, or you can choose from the diverse multi-course menus at dinner, which are all included in your River Cruise Fare! Did you know that Amawaterways was the first cruise line to offer a complimentary fleet of bicycles onboard. They also in the last decade brought out twin-balcony staterooms as well as their first-ever Chef’s Table Speciality Restaurant.
When AmaMagna was launched back in 2019, she brought out their first ever onboard cinema, outdoor spin bikes and Juice Bar! Onboard all of AmaWaterways ships they all feature amenities and venues that allows guests to bring out their best selves. From the complimentary fleet of bicycles onboard their European ships to the sun-deck walking tracks, heated swimming pool, whirlpools and onboard fitness rooms.
With each of their ships they are designed with many eco-friendly elements to reduce their carbon footprint. These elements include LED lighting, solar heating and energy-reducing windows, innovative fuel-reducing engine. They have also added in new solar panels on the roofs of the balconies on AmaMagna in 2023 to help the ship to reduce its fuel consumption and use cleaner energy. Each year during the winter, all of the European ships undergo an annual rejuvenation where everything from interior carpets, to fresh coats of paint, to new fabrics and more are touched up or replaced to ensure to offer a luxurious welcoming public area.
