Greg Mortimer
Greg Mortimer is AE Expeditions' pioneering purpose-built expedition ship, named after the company's adventurous co-founder and renowned mountaineer. Introduced in 2019, she became the first passenger ship to feature the distinctive Ulstein X-BOW®, designed to create smoother and more efficient ocean crossings.
With a maximum of 130 guests on expedition voyages, Greg Mortimer feels intimate and adventure-focused. There are 76 ocean-view staterooms, with private balconies on around 85% of them, while extensive observation areas ensure the landscapes outside are never far away.
Expedition days are designed to flow quickly from ship to shore, with 15 Zodiacs, four dedicated boarding doors and a purpose-built activity platform. Between adventures, guests can enjoy the observation lounge, lecture theatre, library, gym, sauna and two outdoor Jacuzzis before sharing the day's stories over relaxed dining.
What Makes Greg Mortimer Special?

Ulstein X-BOW
Greg Mortimer was the first passenger ship to feature the distinctive Ulstein X-BOW®. Its streamlined design cuts more smoothly through waves, helping reduce vibration while improving comfort and fuel efficiency on longer ocean crossings.

Fast Zodiac Access
Fifteen Zodiacs and four dedicated boarding doors help get guests off the ship and into the destination efficiently. Less time waiting to embark means more time Zodiac cruising, exploring ashore and making the most of each expedition day.

Hydraulic Viewing Platforms
Fold-out hydraulic viewing platforms extend from the side of the ship to create unobstructed views close to the water. They are particularly memorable when watching whales, seabirds, icebergs and other wildlife passing alongside the ship.
