Welcome to MSC Ocean Cay Marine Reserve, MSC Cruises’ brand new private island destination in the Bahamas. The island began welcoming visitors in December 2019 after a $200 million project to turn the once industrial site into a world-class cruise destination.
MSC Ocean Cay really is a unique island destination where guests are invited to connect with their natural surroundings and learn about the importance of preserving the oceans and coral reefs. MSC Cruises has spent the past years creating a biodiverse and sustainable environment, with over 4,600 trees and palms planted across the island. Working with the Government of The Bahamas, MSC Cruises committed to protecting 64 square miles of waters around Ocean Cay by designating it as a Marine Reserve, they have even established a coral nursery around the island to encourage and sustain the growth of new corals.

The largest of the 7 beach areas is composed of North Beach and South Beach. With shallow crystal-clear water this area is perfect for protected swimming as well as water sports.

From snorkelling safaris in the marine reserve to kayak or paddleboard rentals around the island, you can even take a short boat ride and snorkel amongst a shipwreck as you rub shoulders with the various colourful and exotic fish that inhabit these tranquil waters.
