Welcome to MSC Ocean Cay Marine Reserve, MSC Cruises’ brand new private island destination in the Bahamas. The island began welcoming visitors in December 2019 after a $200 million project to turn the once industrial site into a world-class cruise destination.

MSC Ocean Cay really is a unique island destination where guests are invited to connect with their natural surroundings and learn about the importance of preserving the oceans and coral reefs. MSC Cruises has spent the past years creating a biodiverse and sustainable environment, with over 4,600 trees and palms planted across the island. Working with the Government of The Bahamas, MSC Cruises committed to protecting 64 square miles of waters around Ocean Cay by designating it as a Marine Reserve, they have even established a coral nursery around the island to encourage and sustain the growth of new corals.

What are the highlights of MSC Ocean Cay Marine Reserve?

If you’re looking to soak up the sun and relax on a gorgeous white-sand beach, well you’re in luck as there are no less than 7 spectacular beaches on the island to choose from. The largest of the 7 beach areas is composed of North Beach and South Beach. With shallow crystal-clear water this area is perfect for protected swimming as well as water sports.

If you’re looking to stay active, there are plenty of options for you. From snorkelling safaris in the marine reserve to kayak or paddleboard rentals around the island, you can even take a short boat ride and snorkel amongst a shipwreck as you rub shoulders with the various colourful and exotic fish that inhabit these tranquil waters.

Is food available at MSC Ocean Cay Marine Reserve?

If you’re looking to discover authentic Bahamian favourites head straight for Seakers Buffet. All your food here is included in your cruise fare and as well as local favourites, you can also sample America’s classics as well as food for all the family.

Can I use my drinks package at MSC Ocean Cay Marine Reserve?

Yes! If you have a drinks package included as part of a promotion, or you’ve purchased a drinks package before departure or onboard, you’ll be able to make use of this on Ocean Cay island. Of course, the usual restrictions of the Easy, Easy Plus or Premium Extra packages apply.

Is there an exclusive area for MSC Yacht Club guests?

MSC Yacht Club guests have exclusive access to Ocean House Beach. This beautiful, secluded cove, fringed by swaying palm trees, offers an upscale experience like no other. As well as the rest of the island’s amenities, MSC Yacht Club guests can take advantage of their very own private bar, or even rent a beachfront or ocean view cabana for the day – bliss.
