A New Chapter for Paramount Cruises
At Paramount Cruises, we’ve always believed travel is about people, the stories we share, the connections we build, and the memories we create. This year marked a new chapter as we took on apprentices for the very first time, welcoming bright new talent into the world of cruise travel.
It was an exciting step for us, and one that’s proven to be incredibly rewarding for both the business and the wider travel industry.
Bringing Apprentices Into the World of Cruise Travel
Launching our apprenticeship programme was all about investing in the next generation. The travel and cruise industry thrives on passion and creativity, and we wanted to open the door to those who could bring fresh ideas, digital know-how, and a new perspective to our growing team.
From marketing and social media to customer operations, our apprentices have quickly become an integral part of what we do. While there have been challenges along the way, balancing mentorship, training, and productivity, the result has been well worth it.
“Apprentices have been a real asset to our marketing team,” says Jess Hartley, Head of Marketing at Paramount Cruises. “They’ve helped us manage workload in such a positive way, bringing fresh perspectives and enthusiasm to every project. We’ve been able to bring them into the business and shape them in the Paramount Cruises way, showing them not just how we work, but why we do what we do. It’s been incredible watching their confidence grow.”
Celebrating Success: Our Apprentices Graduate
Recently, we had the privilege of celebrating our apprentices’ achievements at a graduation ceremony, marking the completion of their training and the beginning of their careers in travel.
One of the standout moments came when Josh Harris, our Marketing Apprentice, received the Digital Creator Award for his exceptional creativity and drive.
Josh’s enthusiasm for learning every aspect of the industry, from cruise products to supplier partnerships, has made him an invaluable part of the team. His willingness to step in front of the camera, represent the brand at events, and constantly challenge himself has helped elevate our content and digital presence.
“Josh has shown incredible initiative, always stepping up to be part of every event, campaign, and video opportunity,” Jess adds. “He’s strengthened our brand voice and set an inspiring example for future apprentices.”

Building a Better Customer Experience
The benefits of our apprenticeship programme have extended far beyond marketing. In our operations team, Alice, has made a tangible difference to the customer journey.
“Alice has made such a difference to the customer journey,” explains Leah Whitton, Head of Operations at Paramount Cruises. “She’s helped us streamline processes, improve communication, and add that extra touch of care that makes the Paramount experience so special. It’s been amazing to watch her confidence grow.”
Investing in the Future of Travel
Apprenticeships play a crucial role in building the future of the UK travel and cruise industry. They help bridge the skills gap, offer opportunities for young professionals, and bring much-needed innovation to a sector that’s constantly evolving.
For Paramount Cruises, this initiative has been about more than just hiring, it’s been about nurturing passion, growing confidence, and investing in people who will help shape the next generation of travel.
Looking Ahead
Our apprentices have shown that with the right guidance and opportunity, young people can thrive in the travel industry. Their creativity, digital insight, and enthusiasm have not only supported our growth but also reinvigorated our company culture.
At Paramount Cruises, we’re proud to continue championing new talent, because the future of travel depends on it.
“We’ve learned just as much from our apprentices as they have from us,” Jess reflects. “They’ve brought ideas, energy, and a real sense of drive that’s reminded us why we love what we do.”
