MSC Cruises has announced an exciting expansion of family entertainment at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, with new experiences launching from January 2026 onwards. The private island in The Bahamas will introduce a wider range of activities designed to appeal to guests of all ages, adding even more value to MSC Caribbean cruises that include this unique destination.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve is already a standout highlight for MSC Cruises guests, offering eight white sand beaches, calm turquoise waters and a strong focus on marine conservation. With these new entertainment experiences, families can look forward to even more ways to relax, explore and create lasting memories during their time on the island.

New Family Entertainment Coming to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve

The new lineup of activities will roll out in phases from January 2026 and is designed to complement MSC Cruises’ onboard family programmes. Whether guests are interested in wellness, interactive learning or creative play, the expanded offering ensures there is something for every generation to enjoy.

Ocean Cay’s late-night and overnight stays on selected MSC itineraries also mean guests will have extended time to take part in these new experiences, making the private island an even more immersive part of the cruise journey.

Wellness and Sports Programming on the Beach

Two professional coaches will lead a new daily wellness and sports programme from MSC Cruises’ US-based ships. Set against the natural backdrop of Ocean Cay, these sessions are designed to create a relaxed beach retreat atmosphere for guests looking to recharge.

Activities will run throughout the day and include yoga, functional training and popular sports sessions. Highlights will include sunrise yoga paired with sound healing meditation, as well as a fire and ice challenge combining hot yoga with ice baths.

Augmented Reality Treasure Hunt for All Ages

Families visiting Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve will also be able to take part in a new Augmented Reality treasure hunt that blends fun, education and environmental awareness. Designed for guests of all ages, the experience uses mobile devices or tablets to guide participants on a digital adventure across the island.

Guests will scan wooden sculptures located around Ocean Cay to unlock immersive storytelling through the AR app. Each location highlights a specific ecological challenge and explains the steps MSC Cruises is taking to protect the marine environment.

LEGO Pop Up Experience at Ocean Cay

Families arriving at Ocean Cay will be welcomed by a vibrant LEGO pop-up experience at the Welcome Pavilion. The interactive activation features seven LEGO mascots alongside Doremi, the beloved MSC Cruises mascot.

This colourful space offers a fun and playful environment where children and parents can enjoy creative moments together, adding another family-friendly highlight to the Ocean Cay experience.

Why Ocean Cay is a Standout Destination for MSC Cruises Guests

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve is a former industrial site that has been transformed into a private island focused on relaxation, natural beauty and conservation. Guests can enjoy snorkelling, paddleboarding and jet skiing, or simply unwind on one of the island’s eight beaches.

The addition of new family entertainment experiences further enhances Ocean Cay’s appeal, making it a key highlight of MSC Caribbean cruises for families seeking both adventure and downtime.
