MSC Cruises has confirmed its World Cruise 2028: a 115-night voyage aboard MSC Magnifica calling at 42 destinations across 29 countries and six continents. Departing in January 2028 and returning in April, the programme positions MSC’s most extensive world cruise to date as the line’s headline 2028 product.

If you are considering an extended voyage, the 2028 itinerary covers a Mediterranean start, Pacific crossing via the Panama Canal, time in Australasia and Southeast Asia, then a return through India and the Suez. Seven overnight stays sit alongside 15 included shore excursions, and the Dine and Drink package is bundled into the fare. Call our specialists on 020 7947 0270 to register interest or browse our world cruises page for current availability.

The MSC World Cruise 2028 itinerary, in three acts

MSC has structured the 2028 programme around three regional “acts”, each with its own character. This makes the 115 nights easier to digest if you are sailing the whole voyage, and easier to slice into segments if you are not.

Act one: Mediterranean to Pacific via the Panama Canal

The opening leg leaves the Mediterranean, crosses the Atlantic to the Caribbean, and transits the Panama Canal into the Pacific. Caribbean calls sit alongside Pacific Central American ports before the ship pushes south and west toward the South Pacific.

Act two: New Zealand and Southeast Asia

The second act takes in the Maori heritage of New Zealand, mainland Australia and the cultural breadth of Southeast Asia. Expect overnight stays in marquee cities so you can spend meaningful time ashore rather than the usual six-hour port window.

Act three: Thailand back to Europe via India and the Suez

The closing leg sails west from Thailand, through India and the Arabian Peninsula, transits the Suez Canal, and crosses the Mediterranean back to the embarkation region. The two canal transits, Panama in act one and Suez in act three, are highlights for many world-cruise sailors.

Which ship is the 2028 World Cruise on?

MSC Magnifica, freshly remodelled to include the MSC Yacht Club, hosts the 2028 World Cruise. Magnifica is a smaller, quieter ship than MSC’s newest mega-class vessels, which suits a long voyage. The MSC Yacht Club is an exclusive ship-within-a-ship area with priority embarkation, butler service, dedicated dining and a private lounge, and is worth considering if you are sailing the full programme.

What is included in the MSC World Cruise 2028 fare?

  • 7 overnight port stays for meaningful time ashore
  • 15 included shore excursions
  • The Dine and Drink package across the ship
  • Day and night entertainment programme
  • Optional MSC Yacht Club upgrade for premium experience

The included Dine and Drink package is the single biggest budget variable removed from a typical world-cruise fare. Adding it up across 115 nights, this represents meaningful value compared with paying per drink and per speciality dinner on shorter voyages.

Specialist view: who should book MSC’s 2028 World Cruise

This is a properly designed world cruise. The three-act format means you spend meaningful time in each region rather than ticking off ports, and the Dine and Drink package being included takes a big variable out of the 115-night budget. Call early because the MSC Yacht Club cabins go first.
