Welcome to Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s flagship private island destination in the Bahamas. For decades the island, known as Little Stirrup Cay, has been used by Royal Caribbean ships, however in 2019, following a $250 million makeover, Perfect Day at CocoCay opened. Of course, in true Royal Caribbean style, the island and its attractions are bigger and bolder than ever.
The island has been such a hit with Royal Caribbean guests that the cruise line has even introduced sailings that visit the island twice during a short getaway cruise. There are also selected cruises which include late-night stays at CocoCay and these have proved incredibly popular too, as the sun goes down the party really comes alive with bands, fire dancers, laser shows and fireworks displays to round off your Perfect Day at CocoCay.
What are the highlights of Perfect Day at CocoCay?
Where do we start… The adventures begin as soon as you step off the ship, as the welcome you receive at the Arrivals Plaza is second to none. From there the choice is yours, if you’re looking to lounge on the beach then why not head to South Beach with complimentary beach chairs and towels available for you to use? At over 33,000 square feet, the Oasis Lagoon is the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean and features a swim up bar with stools, underwater benches and in-pool lounge chairs.
If you’re looking for a rush of adrenaline, look no further than the Thrill Waterpark which includes Daredevil’s Peak, the tallest waterslide in North America, sitting at a record breaking 41-metres tall! Talking of record breaking, the waterpark also features the Caribbean’s biggest wave pool, just make sure you’re ready for the splash as the clock runs down to zero! Before you head back onboard it’s well worth going Up, Up and Away, on a balloon ride where you’ll reach a height of 137-metres – ideal for capturing that once in a lifetime snap to remember your Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Is food available at Perfect Day at CocoCay?
There are plenty of complimentary dining options throughout the island, which is just as well, with all the adventure and activities available you’ll certainly need to fuel up whilst on CocoCay. Make sure not to get back on board without trying the signature crispy chicken sandwich from the Snack Shack. There is also a chargeable restaurant on the island. With sweeping waterfront views, Captain Jack’s offers an a la carte menu as well as a fantastic drinks offering, because you know it’s five o’clock somewhere in the world!
Can I use my drinks package at Perfect Day at CocoCay?
Yes! If you have an onboard drinks package included as part of a promotion, or you’ve purchased a drinks package before departure or onboard, you’ll be able to make use of this on CocoCay. Plus there is complimentary water and juice available at all the food stations around the island. If you have a Wi-Fi package which you purchased onboard this will also be active on the island.
Is there an exclusive area for Suite Club guests?
Unlike Royal Caribbean’s other Caribbean island destination, Labadee, at this moment in time Perfect Day at CocoCay does not have an exclusive area for Suite guests or Crown and Anchor Society members. However, if you’re looking to lounge in luxury, Coco Beach Club includes the Bahamas’ first ever floating cabanas. Entry to Coco Beach Club also gives guests access to an exclusive private beach, the clubhouse, an incredible infinity pool, plus complimentary dining at the Coco Beach Club restaurant.
