Are you ready to set sail with Havila Voyages?

The Countdown Has Begun!
We're sure you're excited to set sail with Havila Voyages, but the journey starts well before you step onboard.
To help you prepare for a smooth and enjoyable cruise, we've answered some of the most common questions our guests ask. Whether you're managing your booking, completing online check-in, or simply wondering about dress codes, you'll find everything you need to know right here.
We've designed this FAQ to take the stress out of planning, so you can focus on the fun parts, like choosing shore excursions, exploring dining options, or picturing yourself admiring the northern lights. If there's anything you're still unsure about, our team is always here to help.
From the moment you've booked your cruise you'll be able to log into your Havila Voyages account. You will receive a link via e-mail that allows you to access and manage your reservation. Your Havila Voyages reference number can be found by logging in to your My Trip area. You can then log in to your My Voyage portal on the Havila Voyages website. Here you'll be free to complete the check-in process as well as planning all your onboard activities.
In Bergen, check-in takes place at the terminal between 4 PM and 8 PM, with cabin access usually from 6 PM. In Kirkenes, you can check in on board from 11 AM. For other ports, check-in generally opens when the ship docks and closes 15 minutes before departure.
You'll need a valid passport for travel. It must have at least 6 months validity from your date of return to the UK.
Please check the entry requirements for the countries you’ll be visiting, some destinations do require a visa to be organised prior to departure. You can find the latest information at www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice.
Excursions can be booked online via the MyVoyage portal, by contacting customer service, or directly on board the ship. It is highly recommended to pre-book popular tours at least 72 hours before departure to avoid disappointment.
The atmosphere on board is casual and relaxed. It is recommended to dress in layers for the Norwegian weather, including waterproof jackets and sturdy shoes for excursions.
Packing for Norway requires preparation for rapidly changing conditions, even in the summer. You should pack warm clothes, a hat, and wool underwear as a standard, regardless of the time of year. The best approach is layering: start with a moisture-wicking base layer like merino wool, add an insulating fleece or wool middle layer, and finish with a waterproof and windproof outer jacket. For footwear, bring sturdy, waterproof shoes or boots for shore excursions and comfortable indoor shoes to wear around the ship. Do not forget binoculars to get a closer view of the wildlife, a camera for your memories, and a tripod if you hope to capture the Northern Lights. If you use a mobile phone for photography, a small stand can help with long-exposure shots of the aurora.
There are no formal nights or requirements to dress up for dinner. Some guests may choose more smart-casual attire when dining at the Hildring Fine Dining restaurant.
If you sail on a 12-day Round Voyage between 1 October and 31 March and the Northern Lights do not appear, Havila Voyages will give you a free 6 or 7-day voyage to try again.
The ships use 220V power outlets. Cabins are also conveniently equipped with USB ports for charging your electronic devices.
Packaged voyages include full board, which covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Havrand Restaurant. During breakfast, you can enjoy complimentary orange juice, apple juice, or milk, while coffee and tea are served free of charge with every meal. Your fare also covers free on-board Wi-Fi and access to public facilities including the fitness rooms, saunas, and outdoor jacuzzis.
