With just 230 guests, Zodiacs, panoramic viewing spaces and expert-led discovery, she is designed to make the destination the centre of every voyage.
Her future itineraries range from Antarctica and the Northwest Passage to Alaska, the South Pacific, Asia and, in 2028, the remote Kimberley region of Western Australia.
Expedition Cruising Up Close
A Hapag-Lloyd expedition is deliberately different from a conventional cruise itinerary. Ports and organised sightseeing are only part of the experience.
Where conditions and local regulations allow, the ships’ Zodiacs take guests away from conventional harbours for landings, wildlife encounters and exploration directly from the ship. Adventure Outside, Comfort Inside
A demanding day of exploration does not mean the ship itself needs to feel basic. The HANSEATIC expedition ships were deliberately designed to combine expedition capability with considerable comfort. All accommodation is outside-facing and almost every cabin and suite has either a private balcony or French balcony, keeping guests connected with the landscape even from their room.
Each ship has three restaurants, with flexible opening times and freedom over where you sit. That flexibility is particularly useful on an expedition voyage, where the day might change because whales have appeared outside or conditions suddenly make a landing possible.
The ships also feature inviting lounges, an all-weather pool area, fitness facilities and the OCEAN SPA, including a Finnish sauna with ocean views, steam sauna and relaxation areas.

Yes. Since January 2026, all Hapag-Lloyd Cruises voyages have operated bilingually in English and German, including HANSEATIC nature, HANSEATIC inspiration and HANSEATIC spirit.
This is an important change for UK guests. HANSEATIC inspiration was historically the internationally focused, bilingual expedition ship, while its sisters were predominantly German speaking. The entire expedition fleet is now available to English-speaking guests, significantly increasing the choice of itineraries and departure dates.
