Paramount Cruises Private Transfer Credit
Everything you need to know about your Paramount Cruises Private Transfer Credit.
For years, our North American packages have included pre-booked meet-and-greet or shared transfers. They work, but they aren't always the best fit. Flights get delayed. Cruise days run long. Plans change. And the cost of traditional private transfers in US cities has climbed sharply.
We've introduced a better option. Your Paramount Cruises Private Transfer Credit is a pre-loaded voucher, delivered straight to your Uber account, that covers every transfer on your itinerary and gives you complete flexibility over when and how you travel. It's the same licensed, regulated service that millions of Americans and Canadians use every day, with the fare paid for by us.
What is a Paramount Cruises Private Transfer Credit?
It's a voucher, pre-loaded onto your own Uber account before you travel. You download the Uber app, sign in, and the credit is there waiting. When you request a ride to or from the airport, cruise port or your hotel, you simply tap "Paramount Cruises Credit" at the payment screen and the fare comes off your voucher rather than your bank card.
We work out how much credit to issue based on typical Uber Comfort fares for your exact journeys and add a generous buffer on top, so you're comfortably covered. The credit is valid for the full length of your holiday, so any balance left after your transfers is yours to spend on other Uber rides during the trip.
Why we've moved to Private Transfer Credits
We looked at what our customers actually need from a transfer: a car, on time, that shows up whatever's happened to their flight, takes them where they want to go, and doesn't cost the earth. Uber delivers on all of those, plus a few things traditional transfers can't:
Better value for money
Uber fares in most US cities are a fraction of what traditional private or VIP transfer companies charge. We pass that saving on to you through lower package prices, without compromising on quality.
Flight delays solved
Pre-booked transfers need 24-48 hours' notice to change, so if your flight lands late the driver's already gone. With Uber you request the ride only once you've landed and collected your luggage. No missed driver, no rebooking admin.
Always on time
Drivers arrive within minutes in every city on our itinerary. You can see the car on a map the moment you request it, track it in real time, and message the driver without revealing your phone number.
Travel on your timetable
Want to reach the port early for check-in? Stop for lunch on the way? Take an extra hour in the hotel lounge? Just request your Uber when you're ready. No calls, no changes, no waiting for confirmation emails.
Safe, licensed drivers
Uber drivers are background-checked, their vehicles are inspected, and the company is fully regulated in every city we operate in. Every ride comes with Uber's commercial insurance cover as standard.
More than just transfers
Any credit left after your transfers is yours to spend on other Uber rides during the holiday. Think dinner in New Orleans, a Broadway show in Manhattan, a trip up to Hollywood, or a short hop on the Strip.
The right car every time
Credits are sized for Uber Comfort (newer cars, extra legroom, 4 passengers). Travelling with more luggage or in a group of 3 or more? Tap up to Uber XL in the app. The credit still applies and any difference tops up automatically.
Your pre-departure pack
Around a couple of weeks before you travel, we'll email you a short "Your Paramount Cruises Private Transfer Credit" pack containing:
• A one-tap redemption link that loads your credit straight onto your Uber account.
• A step-by-step guide to downloading the Uber app, signing in and using your credit (no prior experience needed).
• A quick-reference sheet for where your Uber will pick you up at each airport and cruise terminal on your itinerary.
• A reminder of the total credit value loaded onto your account, in both GBP and local currency.
• For estimated journey times and distances, we point you back to the Frequently asked questions on this page, which list approximate miles and minutes for every city.
If you've never used Uber before, the guide walks you through it from scratch in about five minutes. If you already have the app, you'll find the credit automatically sitting as a payment option inside it.
Staying connected on your trip
To use Uber you'll need an internet connection on your phone when you're requesting rides at the airport and cruise terminal. Here's how to do that without racking up a big roaming bill.
Most places on your itinerary have free WiFi
The good news is you don't need mobile data everywhere. Every airport and cruise terminal on our North American itineraries offers free public WiFi, and almost every hotel in our package portfolio includes free in-room and lobby WiFi as standard (a small number of premium properties charge a resort or WiFi fee).
That means you can usually download the Uber app, sign in, request your ride and track the driver while connected to free airport or hotel WiFi, without needing a data plan at all.

Buy a travel eSIM for peace of mind
Our expert recommendation
While WiFi covers the important pickup points, there are moments when a mobile data connection is useful, such as messaging your driver once you're curbside, or calling an Uber unexpectedly while you're out sightseeing. Many UK networks charge eye-watering roaming fees for the US and Canada (some over £7 per day, some pay-as-you-go over £1 per minute for calls).
The simplest fix is a travel eSIM, a digital SIM you can buy from your phone before you leave the UK. We recommend Airalo, which sells data-only eSIMs for the US and Canada starting from around £4 a week. It installs in minutes, uses local mobile networks at local rates, and doesn't affect your UK number (you'll still receive texts on your regular SIM).
If you'd rather stick with your UK network, it's worth checking your roaming add-on options a few days before departure.
Frequently asked questions
Open the Uber app, enter your destination, choose your vehicle (we recommend Uber Comfort), and at the payment step make sure "Paramount Cruises Credit" (or "Uber Cash") is selected before tapping Confirm. Your personal card stays on the account as a back-up, but it won't be used unless the fare exceeds your credit balance.
Nothing, from your point of view. You only request the ride once you've landed and you're ready. Your credit doesn't expire during your holiday, so a late-night arrival doesn't cost you anything extra.
We size every credit using typical Uber Comfort fares for your exact route, with a generous buffer added on top. On the vast majority of journeys that comfortably covers the full cost. Your personal card stays on the account as a safety net, but for most customers it's simply never used.
The remaining balance stays on your Uber account for the full duration of your holiday and can be used for any eligible Uber ride, such as getting to a restaurant, a museum, a Broadway show or an evening out. Once your holiday ends, any unused balance expires.
Yes. The credit is loaded onto one person's Uber account and covers the vehicle, not the passenger count. If you're a couple or a family, one of you places the request and you all travel together. The recommended credit amounts assume 2 people sharing an Uber Comfort car, with ample room for two standard cruise suitcases.
Uber Comfort fits 2 large cases plus 2 carry-ons comfortably. For groups of 3 or more, mobility equipment, golf clubs or oversize cases, choose Uber XL at the vehicle-select screen. It's a larger SUV or minivan and adds around 20% to the fare. The credit still applies and any difference tops up automatically.
Yes, absolutely. The credit works on any eligible Uber ride, not just airport and port transfers. Many of our customers use their leftover credit for nights out in New Orleans, Las Vegas or New York, or for short hops in Los Angeles.
Tipping is optional in the US and Canada but common. The app will prompt you after the ride with preset amounts (typically 10 to 20%). Tips come from your own card, not the credit. A few dollars for short rides, or 10 to 15% for longer airport runs, is standard.
Before you get in any Uber, check that the licence plate, car make and colour, and driver's photo on the app match the vehicle in front of you. Share your trip with a family member using the app's "Share trip" feature. Drivers are background-checked and vehicles inspected as standard.
Just let your sales agent know. We can quote any package with traditional private or shared transfers included instead of the Private Transfer Credit, and you'll see exactly how the two options compare on price.
