Peru - Sacred Vallley

Day 1 – Sacred Valley Arrival

After travelling to Cusco in the Peruvian Andes you will journey into the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way visit the traditional Andean village of Chinchero, where local families continue ancient weaving traditions using natural dyes and alpaca wool. Surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery and traditional farming communities, the Sacred Valley offers a fascinating introduction to the culture and landscapes of the Andes.

Day 2 – Sacred Valley Exploration

Today explore the Sacred Valley beginning with a visit to the colourful market town of Pisac where local artisans sell traditional crafts and textiles. Continue to the impressive Inca ruins above the town where terraces, temples and ancient structures overlook the valley below. Later visit the remarkable archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, once the royal estate of an Inca emperor and one of the best preserved Inca towns in Peru.

Day 3 – Machu Picchu

This morning travel by train through spectacular mountain scenery to the town of Aguas Calientes before ascending to the legendary citadel of Machu Picchu. During your guided tour explore the most famous areas of the site including the Temple of the Sun, Sacred Plaza and the agricultural terraces that cascade down the mountainside. Surrounded by dramatic peaks and cloud forest, Machu Picchu remains one of the most extraordinary archaeological sites in the world. Later return to Cusco.

Day 4 – Cusco City Tour

Day 5 – Cusco to Lima

After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima, Peru’s vibrant coastal capital. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel where the remainder of the day is free to relax or explore the city. Lima is renowned for its rich history, impressive architecture and world-famous gastronomy.

Day 6 – Lima City Tour

Explore Lima’s historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with colonial architecture and grand plazas. Visit Huaca Pucllana, an impressive archaeological site dating back to the ancient Lima civilisation before continuing to the Plaza de Armas where the Government Palace, Cathedral and Archbishop’s Palace stand. Later visit the Convent of Santo Domingo, one of the most important religious buildings in Peru.
