Why Choose the Canadian Grand Prix?

The Canadian Grand Prix has been a favourite among Formula 1® fans for decades, with Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve delivering some of the most unpredictable and exciting racing on the calendar. Set on Île Notre-Dame in the St Lawrence River, the circuit features long straights, challenging chicanes and the infamous Wall of Champions, where even the world's best drivers have come unstuck.

Away from the track, Montréal comes alive during Grand Prix weekend. The city's French-Canadian character, vibrant neighbourhoods, fantastic restaurants and lively nightlife make it a destination worth visiting in its own right. From the cobbled streets of Old Montréal to the views from Mount Royal, there's plenty to discover between sessions.

Cruise and Grand Prix: The Perfect Combination

Why travel all the way to Canada for just a race weekend when you could turn it into a much bigger adventure? Our Canadian Grand Prix cruise holidays are designed to combine the thrill of Formula 1® with the opportunity to explore more of North America, whether that's discovering exciting cities, breathtaking natural wonders or spectacular coastlines from the comfort of a cruise ship.

Each year, we carefully select cruise itineraries and hotel stays that complement the Grand Prix weekend. The destinations, ships and additional experiences may change, but the idea remains the same: bringing together world-class motorsport and an unforgettable cruise holiday in one carefully planned package.

What's Included in a Canadian Grand Prix Cruise Holiday?

Our Canadian Grand Prix packages bring together the essential elements of your holiday, including return flights, hotel accommodation, a cruise and reserved Grandstand tickets for the race weekend. Rather than organising everything separately, you'll enjoy the convenience of a carefully planned itinerary that brings the different parts of your holiday together.

Depending on your chosen package, additional inclusions may feature guided excursions, onboard drinks packages, speciality dining, Wi-Fi and transfer arrangements. Cruise lines, sailing routes and hotel stays can vary from year to year, so be sure to check the individual package details for everything that's included.

Canadian Grand Prix - Frequently Asked Questions

The 2027 Canadian Grand Prix takes place from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 May at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montréal. The race itself is scheduled for Sunday 23 May, with practice, Sprint Qualifying, the Sprint race and Grand Prix Qualifying taking place across Friday and Saturday.

The Canadian Grand Prix takes place at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, located on Île Notre-Dame in Parc Jean-Drapeau, Montréal. The circuit has hosted Formula 1® since 1978 and is famous for its fast straights, tight chicanes and the iconic Wall of Champions.

Public transport is the easiest way to reach the circuit. Take Montréal's Metro Yellow Line to Jean-Drapeau station, from where you can walk to the circuit entrances. We recommend allowing plenty of time on race days, particularly when leaving after the Grand Prix, as stations and walkways can become very busy.

Transfers to Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve are not included in our current 2027 package, as Montréal's Metro provides a convenient way to reach the circuit. The 2027 itinerary includes a £175 per-person transfer credit towards private transfers and local taxis where required. Transfer arrangements may differ for future packages, so always check the details of your chosen holiday.

Yes. The 2027 Canadian Grand Prix is scheduled as a Formula 1® Sprint weekend, adding even more competitive action to the event. In addition to Sunday's Grand Prix, fans can enjoy Sprint Qualifying on Friday and the shorter Sprint race on Saturday, followed by qualifying for Sunday's main event.

We know other companies sometimes promote what looks like the same package, but there’s a big difference in what you actually get. At Paramount Cruises, we design every Grand Prix cruise holiday to deliver maximum value, comfort, and race-day excitement.

Sadly, some agents cut corners. They might only include general admission tickets, leaving you standing in crowded areas with restricted views, put you up in a hotel in downtown Miami, meaning hours of being sat in traffic each day, or even have you disembarking your ship on Saturday, forcing you to rush to catch qualifying and miss most of the support races.

While we can’t hand out a ten-second stop-and-go penalty to those agents, who in our opinion, exceed track limits, we can promise that every Paramount package includes at least Grandstand tickets, perfectly timed itineraries, and the premium experience true Formula One fans deserve.
