Day 1 – Arrive in Beijing
Your journey begins in Beijing, China’s historic capital and a city where ancient traditions meet modern life. Upon arrival you will be welcomed by your English-speaking guide and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax after your journey or begin exploring the surrounding neighbourhoods at your own pace. Beijing offers a fascinating introduction to the country, with bustling streets, traditional architecture and vibrant local culture.

Day 2 – Imperial Beijing
Today you will explore some of the most iconic landmarks in China’s capital. Begin in Tiananmen Square, one of the largest public squares in the world and an important symbol of modern China, before entering the vast Forbidden City, the former imperial palace that served as the home of Chinese emperors for more than 500 years. Wander through grand halls, courtyards and ceremonial chambers while learning about the history of China’s imperial dynasties, before continuing to the beautiful Temple of Heaven, an architectural masterpiece set within peaceful parkland where emperors once performed sacred ceremonies to pray for good harvests.

Day 3 – The Great Wall of China
Today’s highlight is one of the most famous landmarks in the world as you travel to the scenic Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, known for its spectacular mountain views and beautifully preserved watchtowers. A cable car ride brings you up to the wall where you will have time to walk along the ancient stone ramparts and admire breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Stretching thousands of kilometres across northern China, the Great Wall remains one of the most extraordinary engineering achievements in human history before you return to Beijing later in the day.

Day 4 – Beijing to Xi’an
After breakfast, transfer to the railway station to board one of China’s impressive high-speed trains for the journey to Xi’an. This comfortable and efficient rail network connects major cities across the country and offers a fascinating glimpse of China’s landscapes along the way. Upon arrival in Xi’an, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. As one of the oldest cities in the country and the eastern gateway of the ancient Silk Road, Xi’an has a rich history that spans more than three thousand years.

Day 5 – Terracotta Warriors
Today you will visit one of the most remarkable archaeological discoveries in the world. The Terracotta Army consists of thousands of life-sized clay soldiers created more than two thousand years ago to guard the tomb of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, with each warrior displaying unique expressions, hairstyles and armour. Later return to the city to explore the impressive Xi’an City Wall, one of the best preserved ancient city walls in China, before visiting the historic Small Wild Goose Pagoda, a peaceful temple complex that reflects the city’s long Buddhist heritage.

Day 6 – Xi’an to Chengdu
This morning transfer to the railway station for your high-speed train journey to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province. Known for its relaxed atmosphere, historic temples and famous cuisine, Chengdu offers a different perspective on Chinese culture. After arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel and have time to relax or explore the lively streets, traditional teahouses and vibrant local markets that make Chengdu such a fascinating destination.

Day 7 – Chengdu Pandas
Today you will visit the world-famous Chengdu Panda Research Base, dedicated to the conservation and protection of giant pandas. Set within beautiful natural surroundings, the reserve allows visitors to observe these remarkable animals as they eat, play and relax. Later continue exploring Chengdu with visits to Wuhou Temple, a historic shrine dedicated to the heroes of the Three Kingdoms period, and the tranquil Du Fu Cottage, once home to one of China’s most celebrated poets, offering insight into the cultural traditions that have shaped Chinese history.

Day 8 – Depart Chengdu
