During the warm summer months there’s nothing better than being sat in a beer garden with a fresh, cold pint in hand, which in turn has got us thinking about the best venues at sea, so here are just some of the finest establishments that we’ve experienced while on the open water.
- Masters of the Seas
- MSC Cruises
- MSC Bellissima
- Deck 7
Masters of the Seas is a great meeting point for a pre-dinner drink. Choose from one of their 15 beers on draught and make sure to grab an outside table where you’ll be able to enjoy the spectacular light show on the 80-metre-long LED dome, or even indulge in a spot of people-watching on the Promenade below.
- The District Brew House
- Norwegian Cruise Line
- Norwegian Encore
- Deck 8
District was our favourite bar onboard the brand-new Norwegian Encore. The 22 beers on tap to choose from combined with floor-to-ceiling windows make it an ideal spot to watch the sunset as you sail away to your next port of call. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself returning after dinner to enjoy some live music well into the early hours.
- Red Frog Pub & Brewery
- Carnival Cruise Line
- Carnival Vista
- Deck 5
Carnival Vista was the very first cruise ship to have its own brewery on board, it doesn’t get much better than that! If you want to find out more about how they go about creating their very own Thirsty Frog brews, you can even take a behind-the-scenes brewery tour hosted by The Frog’s trusted Brew Master.
- The Golden Lion
- Cunard
- Queen Mary 2
- Deck 2
It’s all about quality not quantity at The Golden Lion. The selection on tap may be limited but craft beer lovers will not be disappointed as Cunard have teamed up with award-winning micro-brewery Dark Revolution, to create a bespoke and exclusive range of craft beers full of personality.
- The Copper & Kettle
- Royal Caribbean
- Symphony of the Seas
- Deck 5
Location, location, location. The Copper & Kettle pub is at the heart of the action, slap bang in the middle of the Royal Promenade onboard Symphony of the Seas, so you can understand why we were so easily drawn to it. It’s located opposite Sorrento’s Pizzeria so if you’ve had a few too many ales a late-night snack is just a stone’s throw away!
- Brodie’s
- P&O Cruises
- P&O Britannia
- Deck 6
This traditional British pub has a huge range of British and International bottled beers, ciders and real ale on board. We particularly enjoyed trying out the beer flights, 1/3 of a pint tasters which are centred around 6 different regional themes.
Great read!
