Set your sights on the horizon as Norwegian Cruise Line unveils the dazzling Norwegian Aqua, the pioneer of the next generation of the expanded Prima Plus Class. Sailing into the spotlight in the spring of 2025, this maritime marvel promises an oceanic odyssey like no other, and you can secure your spot on the maiden voyage departing from the sun-soaked Port Canaveral in Florida.
When will Norwegian Aqua enter service?
Norwegian Aqua is due to set sail on her maiden voyage on the 28th of March 2025 from Southampton to Boston before heading to Miami for a couple of short cruises to the Bahamas.
Where will Norwegian Aqua be sailing?
Following her maiden voyage and two short sailings from Miami, Norwegian Aqua will begin her maiden season in the Caribbean. From the end of April onwards Norwegian Aqua will homeport a little further north up the Florida coast in Port Canaveral. From here you’ll be able to embark on a seven-day Caribbean escapade to tropical paradises like Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and the exclusive Great Stirrup Cay, NCL’s very own Bahamian hideaway.
After captivating the Caribbean, Norwegian Aqua will set sail on thrilling itineraries to Bermuda from New York between August and September 2025, whilst from October 2025 onwards Norwegian Aqua will return to Florida discovering Eastern Caribbean gems from Miami.
How will Norwegian Aqua compare to other Prima Class ships?
Crafted by the renowned Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, Norwegian Aqua amplifies the Prima Class legacy, boasting a 10% size and capacity increase from its predecessors, Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva. Stretching 1,056 feet long and accommodating 3,571 guests, this floating haven ensures ample outdoor spaces and the highest staffing levels for an unforgettable cruise experience.
Named for its connection to the sea and the myriad shades of blue it reflects, Norwegian Aqua features captivating hull art designed by Allison Hueman, NCL’s first major female hull artist. Hueman’s masterpiece, “Where the Sky Meets the Sea,” adorns the ship with ethereal realism, a vibrant blend of abstract and figurative representations that pay homage to the ancient goddesses ruling the sea and sky.
Allison Hueman, Norwegian Aqua Hull Artist
I’m honored, not only to be the first major female hull artist for Norwegian Cruise Line, but to also know that my artwork will be roaming the seas touching different parts of the world. It’s incredibly special for me to partner with a brand that believes in the magical connection between art and exploration.
What’s new onboard Norwegian Aqua?
Norwegian Aqua introduces the world’s first hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide, the Aqua Slidecoaster. Brace yourself for three stories of twists and turns around the ship’s funnel, propelled by a magnetic lift—an exclusive NCL experience that promises heart-pounding excitement. The Glow Court, a digital sports complex with an interactive LED floor, transforms from day activities to a lively nightclub in the evening. And fear not, beloved Prima Class experiences like The Drop and the Stadium are here to stay.

With separate living and dining areas, three bathrooms, and a sprawling balcony, these suites redefine opulence at sea.
