Tour Information
Day 1 - Relaxing in NegomboAyubowan! Welcome to Sri Lanka where you'll be met at the airport by our local guide who will be looking after you during your stay 8-night tour. You'll be whisked off to the beach town of Negombo where you'll be able to spend the rest of the evening relaxing by the pool and recharging after your flight.
Day 2 - SigiriyaAfter breakfast we'll be heading to Habarana which will be our base for the next couple of days. Here you'll have the chance of visiting the incredible Sigiriya Rock Fortress. This enormous rock boulder rises up 200 meters imposing itself on the surrounding jungle. The unparalleled 360-degree views from the top will take your breath away.
Day 3 - Ancient Ruins & ElephantsToday we'll visit another UNESCO World Heritage Site as we tour Polonnaruwa which was the second kingdom of Sri Lanka. During your visit you'll see the impressive Rock Temple, which features four colossal statues of the Buddha incredibly carved into the stone. Enjoy a lunch with 17 dishes at a farmer’s house before taking a short drive to Minneriya National Park, one of the best places on the island to get up close to Sri Lankan elephants in their natural habitat, this safari will certainly be a highlight of your tour.
Day 4 - Discovering Dambulla & KandyThis morning we'll drive to Kandy, en route we'll stop at Dambulla to visit the impressive Cave Temple, home to the highest number of Buddha statues found in one single place, it's no surprise it has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once in Kandy our first stop will be the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, home to over 4,000 species of plants, ferns, shrubs, palm trees, spices and medicinal plants before visiting the Temple of the Tooth, one of the most important temples for Buddhists in the country as it houses the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha.
Day 5 - Stunning Hillside ViewsLeaving Kandy behind we'll drive through the Sri Lankan hills & visit a tea factory on our way to Nuwara Eliya. Here we board the train and embark on one of the world's most scenic journeys as we snake our way towards Ella, have your cameras at the ready as we rise through the hill country passing stunning waterfalls and mesmerising tea plantations.
Day 6 - Exploring EllaToday you'll have the chance to explore the local area, why not walk to the iconic Nine Arch Bridge, one of the most photographed locations in Sri Lanka, just make sure to check the train schedule. If you're feeling energetic you can even climb Little Adam's Peak for more incredible views of the surrounding countryside.
Day 7 & 8 - Relaxing by the BeachAfter breakfast, we'll drive to Galle & visit the famous Dutch Fort. We'll continue our journey to your beach hotel on the South Coast where you'll be able to savour your last couple of nights in Sri Lanka. Ask your guide about optional whale and dolphin watching tours or a Madu River boat safari.
