As the launch of Norwegian Cruise Line<\/a>‘s latest ship, the Norwegian Prima<\/a>, inches ever closer, we’re excited to discover some of the additional details regarding the elevated culinary and beverage offerings for its highly-anticipated new Prima Class vessels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enticing Elevated Eateries<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Get ready to discover seven brand new and exciting dining venues onboard NCL’s Prima class ships. The all-new Mediterranean seafood speciality restaurant Palomar<\/strong> will make its debut onboard Norwegian Prima<\/a>, serving up high-end Mediterranean cuisine made with simple yet sophisticated ingredients. If you’ve previously enjoyed NCL’s Japanese style restaurant Teppanyaki, then you’ll be in for treat when you discover Hasuki<\/strong>, the new elevated take on the traditional “hibachi-style” dining experience. NCL\u2019s new contemporary sushi house Nama<\/strong> will offer guests elevated sushi dishes prepared by master chefs who will create upscale sushi and sashimi masterpieces.<\/p>\n\n\n

Modernised Main Dining<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The new main dining room at Hudson\u2019s<\/strong> can be found at the aft of the ship where guests will be able to take in stunning 270-degree views overlooking the stern and sample mouthwatering menu items, whilst those looking to enjoy upscale cuisine set in comfortable yet refined surroundings can opt to dine in The Commodore Room<\/strong>. Both locations will boast a revamped extensive fixed menu that offers guests more variety to sample global dishes from Spanish Paella and Italian mussels prepared in a white wine sauce to fully vegetarian options such as mushroom risotto and cauliflower piccata. One of the most exciting menu innovations is set to be a build-your-own-pasta section where guests can create a tailormade Italian classic pasta dish by selecting their choice of pasta, sauce, and topping, providing more than 24 meal combinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a more casual and laid back experience, the Surfside Caf\u00e9<\/strong> and Surfside Grill<\/strong> located on Deck 17 will feature a diverse menu, with self-serve casual dining, and items prepared \u201ca la minute\u201d upon guest request. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustainably Focused and Handcrafted Libations<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Sail and Sustain program, featuring responsibly crafted zero-waste cocktails prepared with surplus ingredients as well as a fully sustainable spirits menu and biodynamic wines, will also be taken up a notch. The Metropolitan Bar<\/strong> will debut a signature sustainably made cocktail the \u201cPrimadonna\u201d, which takes a fun play on an Old Fashion and is crafted using surplus banana peels with Flor De Cana rum that is produced with 100% renewable energy. Those looking for luscious libations can also head to The Belvedere Bar<\/strong>, a contemporary cocktail lounge featuring crafted cocktails with a modern, fresh take on classic drinks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prima Class Penrose Atrium<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sure to be one of the focal points of NCL’s Prima Class, the Penrose Atrium will be Norwegian Cruise Line<\/a>‘s first-ever three-story, glass-walled Atrium, spanning decks six, seven and eight. This impressive space will feature futuristic architecture including a large-scale customer built chandelier, inspired by constellations featuring moving light fixtures and weighing around 3,300 kgs. Lining the Penrose Atrium will be a three-deck-high light feature that will convey the feeling of the sun rising on the horizon and surround a three-level wall art piece that will resemble a topographic map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as featuring various retail outlets such as boutiques and a Starbucks coffee shop, the Penrose will also be home to the decanter-inspired Whiskey Bar<\/strong> offering guests a curated selection of drinks and the Prima Casino<\/strong> and The Penrose Bar<\/strong> featuring video poker machines.<\/p>\n\n\n

Not Forgetting the Classics<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Norwegian Cruise Line<\/a> fans should not worry, as it’s not a complete overhaul of the food and beverage options onboard, classic favourites such as Cagney’s Steakhouse<\/strong> and Le Bistro<\/strong> will both return boasting a refreshed design. Food Republic<\/strong>, the Asian-fusion speciality venue also returns on the first two Prima Class vessels with elevated d\u00e9cor, a larger restaurant space and better views of the outdoors. The ever-popular Observation Lounge<\/strong>, a multi-use space with different areas designated for lounging and socialising, will be back on Norwegian Prima and Viva. Just head up to Deck 17 and discover a cosy, homey ambience featuring different alcoves, separated by elegant screens and partitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
